I’ve never been, Lt Col Charlie Brown, but I’ve seen some of your previous discussion threads regarding the area.
Whenever I hear the name though, I’m always reminded of this 1953 novelty song by The Four Lads, "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)". It’s funny! Of course, the renaming to Istanbul did not occur until 1930, some 477 years later!
