Good morning COL. Mikel Burroughs and all the rest of my RP Family. I never considered myself a docile person but I guess I really didn’t understand the meaning of docile or docility. I believe that most of us display some docility. For me I wish, fervently to be docile to the Holy Spirit and His direction. If I am not docile, I will miss the calling and direction of the Lord God. The following excerpt taken from opusdei.com explains nicely the importance of docility to the Spirit. May you all have a Blessed, joyous and Merry Christmas, as we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Have a blessed day today and always.

"Docile to the Holy Spirit”
Our Lord Jesus wants it: we have to follow him closely. There is no other way. This is the task of the Holy Spirit in each soul, in yours too. You have to be docile, so as not to put obstacles in the way of your God. (The Forge, 860)
Let us describe, at least in general, the way of life which will bring us to deal in a familiar manner with the Holy Spirit, and together with him, the Father and the Son. We can fix our attention on three fundamental points: docility, life of prayer, and union with the cross.
First of all docility, because it is the Holy Spirit who, with his inspirations, gives a supernatural tone to our thoughts, desires and actions. It is he who leads us to receive Christ’s teaching and to assimilate it in a profound way. It is he who gives us the light by which we perceive our personal calling and the strength to carry out all that God expects of us. If we are docile to the Holy Spirit, the image of Christ will be formed more and more fully in us, and we will be brought closer every day to God the Father. “For whoever are led by the Spirit of God, they are the children of God.”
If we let ourselves be guided by this life‑giving principle, who is the Holy Spirit in us, our spiritual vitality will grow. We will place ourselves in the hands of our Father God, with the same spontaneity and confidence with which a child abandons himself to his father’s care. Our Lord has said: “Unless you become like little children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.” This is the old and well‑known “way of childhood,” which is not sentimentality or lack of human maturity. It is a supernatural maturity, which makes us realize more deeply the wonders of God’s love, while leading us to acknowledge our own smallness and identify our will fully with God’s will. (Christ is passing by, 135)

Good morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs We are up to 28 degrees with the promise of getting into the high 40s today.
This one threw me for a few minutes. I wanted to sit and think about it for a bit. Docility has two sides much as many other traits. When we are accepting (docile) to the Lord's will it is a blessing. When we are docile to a government gone wrong, that's a problem. We need to evaluate who and what we choose to follow, especially if we are going to follow with a whole, unquestioning heart.

I am not an admirer of Carl Sagan at all, but I have convinced myself that because you saw fit to post this, then there MUST be an element of validity to this particular quote. I guess that's what being an influence is all about.

Good "Sunday" Morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs from a hazy clear sky and a temperature of 30° headed up to 42° today...in the Greater Boston Area! You have chosen a very docile Topic today and I am wondering what wonderful quotes we will find in addition to the ones you have selected!
"Docility Day!" Why Not?
1) "It is hard to know how many people do, but given that the people are so docile towards the rulers, nowadays, very few Americans show the passion for freedom that our forefathers had." - James Bovard
2) "The plain fact is that education is itself a form of propaganda - a deliberate scheme to outfit the pupil, not with the capacity to weigh ideas, but with a simple appetite for gulping ideas ready-made. The aim is to make 'good' citizens, which is to say, docile and non-inquisitive citizens." - H. L. Mencken
3) "Learning as we go... Why didn't they tell us this before? We, the consumers, are supposed to be docile guinea pigs in a vast but uncontrolled experiment with powerful hormones (HRT). That's quite a commentary on "scientific medicine"." - Ralph W. Moss
4) "The Master said, At fifteen I set my heart upon learning. At thirty, I had planted my feet firm upon the ground. At forty, I no longer suffered from perplexities. At fifty, I knew what were the biddings of Heaven. At sixty, I heard them with docile ear. At seventy, I could follow the dictates of my own heart; for what I desired no longer overstepped the boundaries of righ." - Confucius
"Warriors leaders with measured docility have a duty and eagerness; like a sponge they absorb new ideas, thoughts, tactics, and techniques!" - COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs
