One thing we can be sure of, the older generations will almost always complain about the newer ones. As the Millennials age, they likely will too.
"Kids have it so good today, I remember when I had to drive my own car!"

Not to dismiss the work of 'experts'.... but could it not be that living approximately thirty or forty more years of life, all in expectation of some sort of security and respect could be the cause?

First thing to put an end to, which might suggest societal "respect" during those years, instead of built-in stereotyping . . . all the ads for pharmaceuticals targeting medical conditions being assigned to old folks. They are always shown "living the life of Reilly" if they take the pills . . . not worried about any of the fatal side-effects being recited by the voice-over while they frolic in the park with the grandkids. Periodicals are full of them too, and every other page in some women's magazines promotes the same stereotyping about old folks to young women. There is a lot of institutionalized stereotyping no matter the demographic or decade in one's life.<sigh>
