Opinion? New York Times? Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one, and most of them stink.

Pass them the toilet paper and sell them a chance on a tractor. This will give them something to pull their heads out of their a$$es.

We have a similar “continuous and uninterrupted transport” law in New Jersey.
I used to shoot pistol Wednesday nights at a nearby indoor range, about 7 miles from my home. One night after firing, I put my pistol case in the car as usual and started home.

A short distance from the range, I noticed a car following me. The route home was by back roads, with several twists and turns. My turns were matched by the car behind, all through the 7 mile journey, even into my development, weaving through the local streets, and up to my home where I parked. The mystery car continued up the street, turned at an intersection and was gone.

I was at first worried that some robber had plans to rob my guns from me. That was not the case. Then I thought of another explanation --- maybe an LEO was looking for an "easy collar". If I had "stopped for coffee" would I be given any such leeway as that supposedly "understood" as permissible in the New York law?
Don't bet on it.

SGT Steve McFarland - It seemed unlikely to be coincidence. Looking back on it, the smart thing would have been to drive up to the local police station and stop there.
