Florida is also fairly gun-owner friendly. It is also a CCW "shall-issue" state, and Veterans are exempt from having to take a CCW class and get expedited-processing of CCW applications.

Yep. I have my CCW from Florida --- good in most states, except my native NJ, of course. . Only PITA was renewing. New picture required (makes sense, appearances change in 7 years). New fingerprints must also be submitted (the prints don't change).
P S -- re expediting: I sent my first application in about a week before Christmas one year, expecting that with the holidays on top of the predicted processing time, I would get the CCW sometime in March.
It arrived on 7 January.

SSG Michael Noll - PA is still far better than NJ (land of the "smart gun" law). That PA policy of "non-resident licences ONLY issued if your home state has issued you a CCW" seems aimed at NJ and NY residents.

SGT (Join to see) I will remain here in Tennessee,it doesn't seem to be too restrictive --reasonable background check and open carry laws got a CCW years ago,so no problem there either.
