MY COMMENTS:
Wow! Not too many people will argue that at first blush, the costs associated with holding 41 unlawful combatant Islamists who want to kill us are shocking. But what would be even more shocking would be to use that fact to abbreviate justice that seems so elusive, but is actually coming to a conclusion. Justice is blind, so too should it be undeterred. Accused war criminals have been afforded every luxury, every comfort, every opportunity to receive American justice. Not even just military justice based on International and US military law, but more than that, virtually the same justice that American citizens would enjoy in a US federal court! Absurd! Unheard of! Especially considering the defendants are not even lawful combatants nor prisoners of war. They broke the Law of War and the Geneva Conventions, and could have been lawfully shot dead on the battlefield, and would have were it not for the fact they were presumed to have valuable information that could save many lives. No, it is not time to end the proceedings due to coast, or any other arbitrary or frivolous reason. The LAW shall prevail, however complex, however tedious, however expensive, justice must and will be served, and God willing (inshallah) the death penalty will be in play and administered to the fullest extent permissible if the defendants are found guilty as charged.
