Just what heroic efforts are you referring to? This obviously depicts the end of a battle where the settlers fought off an attack by marauding Indians bent on killing and scalping them to sell their hair to the “ Hair buyer”. For God’s sake actually read the history of that period before you go making stupid statements!

Indians killed and slaughtered hundreds of settlers, paid by first the French and then the British. There is no shame here on him. He was a man of the times and indentured servants were domestic slaves yet you and your ilk never, ever mention them or mourn their plight. Hypocrites , one and all!
