SGT (Join to see) - David, I do not doubt that Turkey/Erdogan are bad actors. They are bad actors that our political, diplomatic and national security experts decided to let into NATO. Unfortunately, we need to deal with things as they are, not how we wish them to be.

As I have said in other posts, if we had any geopolitical courage we would demand they be tossed from NATO and then, if our congress had the stones (which they do not) we could declare war on them. Both houses of congress would need to pass this which both you and I know they will never, ever do. This is the Constitutional process for war. They do not want a vote on the record for war for the simple reason they will not be able to easily cut and run later if things do not go as expected.

Ask yourself this, on what basis would we draft and pass a declaration of war on Turkey either now or after we removed them from NATO?

Cpl Jeff N. - I agree with you 100 percent. Get rid of them. Russia has already taken Crimea which has given them an unfettered access to the Black Sea. Now both Turkey and Russia have allied themselves in the war with Syria. A clear path to the Mediterranean now for Russia. We are getting plain stupid in our geopolitics
