I remember that, boy that was a long time ago. I am sure the Russian Skip had some explaining to do. I am also sure he lost his command. Those were fun times, chasing Russian boats.

SN Donald Hoffman Tore a Good Chunk of the Sub Off, I'm amazed it didn't sink.

It's funny to me that the sub was shadowing the carrier and STILL managed to run into it on accident - because they didn't know where it was. How do you LOSE a carrier that you are supposed to be watching??

MAJ Bryan Zeski "Now the Rest of the Story" No the Sub Commander was Hot Dogging, The Carrier Knew the Sub was Nearby (Doing a Very Old Trick Riding Slightly Back and Under the Carrier, Masking itself with the Noise of the Carrier) After completing His Mission rather than do the Normal thing slow down sink and wait for the Battle Group to Go Bye Bye, He Thought It would be Cool to shoot out fast in Front of the Carrier and do an Emergency Blow making like a Dolphin, Unfortunately He gauged that He was Far Enough Out front of the Carrier for His Little Stunt Not Realizing Just How Far it Takes to slow down, stop or turn a carrier. LOL! Budump!
