The KSN GAL (1911)

I am not familiar with this weapon nor its value. A friend of my son's has one he is trying to sell for $2k. Would anyone be able to help sleuth out a real value for this weapon?

After reading the article, it doesn't sound like anything special to me other than maybe being made is Israel; I say maybe made in Israel because the article says some of them were made in the Philippines. 1911's from the Philippines don't have a good reputation.
