Capt Gregory Prickett - I am far from a legal scholar on any part of Constitutional Law. Citing from the ABA:

"The U.S. Supreme Court has held that all executive orders from the president of the United States must be supported by the Constitution, whether from a clause granting specific power, or by Congress delegating such to the executive branch. Specifically, such orders must be rooted in Article II of the US Constitution or enacted by the congress in statutes. Attempts to block such orders have been successful at times when such orders exceeded the authority of the president or could be better handled through legislation.

I studied your response carefully and researched your opinion. The "Emancipation Proclamation" was an executive order later enshrined in an Amendment to the US Constitution. There have been hundreds of EOs that truly exceeded the presidents power and many have been reversed by the Judicial Branch. As head of the Executive Branch, the President has the authority to "fine tune" the operations of executive agencies which would include the Bureau of the Census which isn't even a Cabinet level agency. To put it plainly, I am mistrustful of all three branches of the US Government. In this example I believe that his ability to fine tune the paperwork issued by a branch of the Executive to be a no brainier.

Don't really care what Canadians think, but as the youngest person ever elected to the House we really need to worry about how her generation thinks. She and they, are a product of our education system, or lack thereof.
