Navy battleships pulled off the biggest military deception of Desert Storm

It was a brilliant deception that definitely led to a quick surrender and the saving of many lives.

1st Cav Division conducted feints which further fixed Iraqi Divisions in the south. The threat of amphibious landings fixed many Iraqi divisions to the east. Often Iraqi units were dug in pointing in the wrong direction of our avenue of approach. One of our tasks was to find the republican guard divisions (the strength of the Iraqi military) and crush them. This accomplishment destroyed any vestige the Iraqi's had about fighting us.
