LTC (Join to see) The divide between the pro and anti Global Warming (GW) crowd is as large as the divide between the Republican party and the party of democrats. I, for one, fall on the side of pro warming. I believe that it is absolutely happening and the history and science packs it up. After all it started at the end of the last ice age. however, despite anecdotal evidence to the contrary, I believe that man has VERY LITTLE to do with it. Every pro GW "expert" wants to cite the acceleration as proof. Lets look at one anecdotal experiment that I offer: Consider a one cubic foot block of ice on a driveway in July (Icebergs, I'm looking at you as evidence). When fresh, it has great potential to maintain its temperature due to its sheer size. As it melts, it loses that potential. As it loses its temperature controlling mass, it melts at an ever accelerating rate. Well, the same happens with the earth. This will eventually be corrected by nature with a global correcting event (anther ice age or mini ice age). There I fixed the debate for them. I welcome dissent, input, and commentary. Please correct me if I am wrong!

All I know is that glaciers created the Finger Lakes and they are now a great wine producing region, so I'm glad they melted. :-)

There is no point in arguing science with those driven by ideology, especially an ideology that uses fear to promote tyranny.

I have said it before and I will say it again. This debate and push for carbon taxes (etc) is not about the environment and never was. It is about money, and getting what would be completely anathema to most everyone - a repressive, regressive energy tax - to be palatable and moral. It is a PR campaign, championed by the likes of Al Gore and his ilk (note that he became very wealthy schilling for this) in order to yoke something everybody needs (energy) to finance their desires. It is just a different way to market it than we are accustomed to.
From an Information Operations (or is it Deception Operations...) point of view, this initiative is genius. It has supporting and shaping operations (dominate mass media, social media, financing studies, influencing political campaigns... the list goes on and on) all focused on the goal of building a socialist society with energy taxes as it's economic engine to sustain their (no pun intended) hold on power.
Think I'm wrong? Convince me otherwise.
I will wait.

1SG (Join to see) You are 100% correct, they are using global warming alarms as a new face to the old socialist face of Socialism and redistribution of wealth!
