I once had that experience of flying with a WWII pilot and he did stalls, flat spins and barrel rolls and I almost chuck my lunch and crapped my pants. Since then I only fly with non-stunt pilots. And he was my flight instructor. So needless to say, I never got my license. lol. :-)

SMSgt Lawrence McCarter - Growing up Air Force and being a C.A.P. Cadet taught me to be careful about who you fly with. 1608th ABG had great pilots. The guy that I was getting instructions from was from a fighter wing. So, yes, I am very cautious of who I get in an aircraft with. Like they told us in airborne school, it's not the falling that kills you. It's the sudden stop at the bottom of the fall. :-)

LTC (Join to see) - I also had been a CAP Cadet and so had My brother. My Dad also was in CAP and all of us spent over 40 years each in CAP. My Dad had before been in the US Navy during WWII and Korea. I had been up in CAP aircraft on orientation flight but later as a Senior member on Air Search hand rescues missions as an observer. I've flown as passenger in many types of aircraft but never a fighter. I'd love to do that as long as they don't do any real fancy moves like rolls etc. Under no circumstances will I get into any aircraft that the pilot didn't conduct a pre flight check however.

SMSgt Lawrence McCarter - Pre-flighting the aircraft should be like putting your clothes on. But once you are airborne there is only one way out. And I'm not jumping from anything smaller than a C-119. I, too, was a Senior Observer and we did a lot of RED-CAP missions. Found some in the mountains and went in close to see what was up. But as a Cadet, we had the advantage because we were Air Force Brats and on some bases that were small, we had more flight time than some of the Airmen coming on-board. My Dad was a Load Master and we knew all of the regular aircrew so we got to go on local hops often.
