Anyone waiting on their tax returns like it's some kind of bonus deserves to be unhappy. Idiots. They are simply waiting for the government to repay the interest free loan these taxpayers gave them. Everyone should calculate their taxes at the beginning of the year, taking appropriate lawful steps to avoid as much as possible and then pay just enough that they have a small payment to make when the file their returns. This will be, in effect, an interest free loan granted to them by the government. But no, they'd rather curse the darkness than light a candle, wouldn't they?

That's pretty much what I've always done as well. Interest free loan to Uncle Sam makes no sense. I always worked things so that I owed a couple hundred come tax time. No proof, but figure it also keeps scammers away, why steal the info of someone who owes taxes.

I don’t think the comment is about when the taxes are paid but rather the fact that there’s more taxes to be paid.

A buddy of mine who retired a few years ago has to shell out 5k in taxes. He is not a happy camper.

I take out $1000 in taxes every month, so I am getting tax refund. I had a hell of a time calculating social security taxes.
