It is my honest belief that 25-40 years from now (probably sooner than later) we will be inundated with advertisements from lawyers who are pressing suits against "BIG CANNABIS." But I am truly a libertarian when it comes to recreational pharmaceuticals and intoxicants (including alcohol). I think that people should be allowed to kill themselves in the manner of their own choosing. However, I would put in some pretty draconian requirements and penalties.

1) Anyone who wishes to use intoxicants must purchase a pre-paid funeral/body disposal service in the event of their death while under the influence of intoxicants.
2) Anyone who becomes permanently incapacitated or disabled while under the influence of intoxicants is disqualified from any government social welfare program which in anyway renders assistance to maintenance of life or quality of life decreases due to their incapacity and/or disability.
3) Anyone who wishes to use intoxicants must purchase a liability insurance policy in the case that they inure or kill anyone while under the influence.
4) Anyone who wishes to use intoxicants and injure or kills someone under the influence of an intoxicant becomes an indentured servant to the trust caring for, or estate of the person(s) injured, and their survivors.
5) Items 1-4 may be waived, IF the person agrees to become a permanent ward of the state, living in state work houses where they will be used as contract labor to pay for their intoxicants and support. Intoxicants will be administered by the state, and inmates will be monitored by work house staff while under the influence.

Yes, I drink but only at home, or if there is a designated driver. Go ahead... have at me.

I agree so long as they don't take an innocent bystander with them. For many years now I have advocated that a mistake was made when ending Prohibition. Inasmuch as intoxication is a choice, if a person causes death while voluntarily under the influence of anything (possibly included distracted driving - such as texting while driving) they should be considered as having murdered with malice aforethought (in the 1st degree)

CPT Jack Durish - That's why I included number 4. I think they should spend the reminder of their life in support of the ones they damaged. But yes there should be some pretty harsh criminal penalties.
