Issue is private closed door meetings without documentation. Political leaders meet all the time, but often have media present or transcript available. No notes, video or witnesses indicates something to hide.

You are comparing candied apple with poisoned apple. Democrat meetings with Putin have been in public with media coverage. Trump meetings with Putin have been private with no documentation. If there is nothing to hide, why not have cameras, meeting minutes and official press announcement to show it?
