A good example is the advent of the P-51. It helped our war supremacy by escorting strategic bombers, killing German pilots, and making tactical runs.

The mission of the Air Force is to, "Fly, fight and win". Plain and simple despite the year's of bullshit changes, it all comes back to that smiple mission statement. Does the AF suffer from the fighter pilot mentality? Yes. Fogelman saw it and tried to make changes but was fought every step of the way. The corporate AF mentality needs to go, the AF needs to get back to the warrior's mentality.
