This is a true story: While I was deployed to South Korea, The weather got really bad. It was like 20 below zero. That didn't seem to stop some of my buddies from going to the Camp Red Cloud bar. I was outside the bar just walking by when a solider came out and unzipped his pants. He thought it would be quicker out there instead of inside where there could be a line. He started to relief himself and instantly saw that his urine froze before it hit the ground. He immediately zipped up his pants and ran back into the bar.
Another time at the same bar, still freezing cold, some buddies egged a guy on to touch the metal flag pole with his tongue. He finally gave in and touched it. Then he tried to back a way. His tongue was stuck there. They called for a medic and he had to damage the tongue a great deal to get him loose. Spent a week in sick bay.
Bot these stories are true, and are part of my up coming book called, "Signs of Hope for the Military: In and Out of the Trenches of Life.
It is a book full of stories I was part of while in the military, but also a book that reaches out to those who suffer from PTSD, TMI, War wounds, anxiety, depression, etc. I am tired of hearing that 22 veterans take their own lives every day. I am hoping this book will help erase that statistic.
Coming out late this spring.

And I thought it was Minitonka, Minnesota. Went there once on business, -50 wind chill and no car rentals because they would freeze up. Operative word here is once.
