You gotta love a professor who will take money from the US Army Military History Institute's money on one hand, and then publish tripe like this and advise the Guantanamo Public Memory Project. Such tolerance. Such diversity. Such a maroon.
Of course Cubans weren't happy we forced a lease on them. 115 years ago, our government didn't care how they felt. The US had fought the Spanish and Cubans and won. They were lucky that's all we wanted. Of course, the Cubans that worked on the base were happy to take American dollars but shush, they don't want that mentioned.
For the record, I commanded a MP company at Camp Delta from July 2004 to April 2005. I had Soldiers and Airman in my company, and I worked with Marines, Navy and other Army units. Not one time in our entire tour there did anyone report any type of abuse of any detainee. And we were there right after Abu Ghraib was on the front page of The New York Times 50 some days in a row.

MAJ Montgomery Granger
Hooah! Sir! God bless you, and may God bless America. YOU need to write a memoir that would be placed on the shelf right next to mine, Sir!

MAJ Montgomery Granger I wish, but I am not a writer and no one wants to read the ravings of a lunatic. ;^)

Keep up the good work, Major Granger. More amplification on why we have been so remiss in the prosecution of these scum is needed, along with who is funding the effort over the years.
