Yeah, no one from the other side is politicizing this right?
Despite what one thinks of Trump's intention, these are my thoughts as a Veteran. Thoughts which I would argue many Veterans share.
1. This is not the first time active duty troops have been stationed on the border for assistance to civil authorities, nor is it illegal. Nothing illegal has happened, only what you think Trump will do.
2. The military forces being deployed to the border have already communicated their mission, which will "include providing engineers who can help erect physical barriers to hold back the migrants, officials said. There will also be helicopter and plane units to transport Border Patrol agents, medical support personnel and planning teams that will help coordinate the influx of forces. General O’Shaughnessy said the new forces will be armed and will operate under the same legal authorities as the National Guard troops already on the border."

3. You have a clear an distinct mass of people communicating their intentions to approach our borders and enter this country illegally. Trump has to challenge this move or it will increase exponentially. The Border Patrol has already stated they are spread too thin. What would the naysayers suggest they do to augment their capabilities?

An initial group of 800 soldiers is already heading to Texas from Fort Campbell and Fort Knox to help hold off a group of Central American migrants moving north through Mexico.
