This kind of proves the caravan is funded and supported by outsiders. I would think the Mexican people would be upset if their tax dollars were being used to support foreigners when their own people want a better life in Mexico.

Here's an alternative view, not anymore farfetched than yours about Soros (and makes a lot more sense to me): Many weeks ago, the R's announced their strategy for the mid-terms and it was illegal immigration. Make it all about fear and borders etc. If people are fearful then they are more likely to vote for strong borders. This strategy was actually very good, because a lot of people are fearful. So any increase of border/immigration fears does nothing for the Dems. In fact, they lose in this strategy because they aren't going to say we don't have illegal immigrants. So the Koch brothers and other RW donors fund the caravan and make it easier for them to keep moving--toward the border and giving them aid. "They are going to storm the borders" even though they are weeks away and there's no evidence of weapons. Fire up the RW media to get everyone afraid. POTUS goes to rallies and says if we elect Dems we will have open borders (no one who reads much actually believes that). But it's very effective. I think Soros' money is going to the PACs that support Dem candidates. But as far as the caravan, it doesn't help the left. By the way, I've been (recently) to the Puebla area and it's all desert, rocks, and not many roads.

Except Susan Foster, your premise that the original idea was “farfetched” is off. It is not “farfetched” to think that Soros is (at least in part) providing funding to the caravan as we have lots of examples of his funding several leftist groups as well as his actions in other countries to the same ends. Further, the leftists from South America are on record in support and a Honduran Leftist is organizing of the caravan.
It is that last point that really debunks any thought towards your alternate thought. We know it was not the Republicans who organized it. You do not have a history or the right “funding” things like this and therefore it is that idea that is “farfetched.”

LTC Stephan Porter - I can give you a long history of the Koch brothers funding the right (that weren't "right"). And there's nothing to gain for the Dems in the U.S. It's all working against their message. And I know Soros gives a whole lot of money to PACs who support left agendas, but he has nothing to gain by supporting the caravan. You could be right--it certainly be Honduran leftists to cause chaos, but I'm not sure they would waste their money on something that gives them nothing in return. In any event, they are at least 5 weeks away, and I do not believe this is a crisis except that manufactured by the current administration. It was farfetched, but it wasn't any more farfetched than those that think Soros is doing it.

Nothing will change in Mexico until the people toss out all the corrupt politicians and fight back against the cartels. Until both happen, their people will be unable to properly plan for and invest in their own future. Sad but true state of affairs there. And it’s the people’s fault for allowing it all these years. It’s easier to invade another successful country then to rebuild their own.

Third world countries always experience the epidemic of the rich getting richer and the rest are poor.
