Thank you my friend SGT John " Mac " McConnell for sharing this account about Operation Wetback which was the biggest mass deportation of undocumented workers in United States history during the Presidency of Dwight D Eisenhower.
To me it is not surprising that during FDRs presidency "Mass deportations of Mexican immigrants from the U.S. date to the Great Depression, when the federal government began a wave of deportations rather than include Mexican-born workers in New Deal welfare programs. According to historian Francisco Balderrama, the U.S. deported over 1 million Mexican nationals, 60 percent of whom were U.S. citizens of Mexican descent, during the 1930s."

Let's not do this again... yet another reason to sort out those who are our citizens and/or came here legally and should stay from those who are not.

Not entirely sure this isn't what current administration would like to do.

"Wet back" was a common term referring to an illegal alien from Mexico. Years ago, I arrested a young Hispanic man in rural Colorado & was booking him into the local jail when a not-too-bright new jail officer asked, "Is he wet?" Instantly, my ward came "uncorked" & threatened bodily harm to the booking officer -- so much so, I felt fortunate to have not yet removed his restraints. It amazed me to see how "wet" transformed a passive local Citizen into a raging tiger in no time!

Very much so SPC John Parmenter . Racist slur's just doesn't help anyone group or persons cause. But I am sure this will never change. Sad but true. Have a great day John.
