They should focus for now on fixing medical conditions. I think the lessons they will learn from that will make it safer and more productive for them to work on enhancements later. Also, reading some of their ideas about future applications, I get the feeling that they are taking too much from science fiction, which is not intended to be (and does not accomplish being) an accurate prediction of the future or of how warfare will evolve. For example, extra-arms: I'm not seeing much use. Remember the robot "dog" that was going to carry rucksacks? Why? Why make a robot that carries rucksacks instead of making a robot that will perform the actions on the objective so that we don't have to send any men or their rucksacks anywhere near the objective? That sort of thing.

But to fix spinal and brain injuries - oh, hell yes. Work on that. Hard.
