So we should strive to be more socially giving, and do so for the better of everyone, or is this saying that we should be very selective in our sharing and stay more primitive in our dealings with each other?

I am fully aware, I read the article and fully comprehended, but when you start to compare human children, it opens the door from animal sociology to human sociology. This means there is something that we can learn from these behaviors.
