That's crap they are going to let the ADM retire, instead of facing trial. He ruined a SO's career, and the worst he will get is a "stain" on his record.... C'mon, that just means instead of 3 speaking engagements a week he will only get 2... I will say that UCI will probably get looked at a lot, and anybody facing a big case should use it as a defense. The services will be scared for a while...

If he’s down to two, it’ll be interesting to see how he lists his accomplishments to include what he retired as and why? He might wind up at one where he’s talking to himself. He was wrong for what he did.

The Admiral will be reduced automatically to Two Star and have a serious stain on his record. While it does not seem to be enough, it is something. This does not prevent the military from further action. I am sure we will here more. Thank you for your service.

CSM. I was thinking along the same lines. He’ll be reduced by at least one star, but there would be no hit to his law license?

That I would not bet on either. I am sure it has to be reported to the bar for adjudication. That type of blatant abuse of the law and in his direct authority and influence are prejudicial to say the least. I am also sure it violates the ethics of the court. Thank you for your service. I think it's sad when senior military are "retired" as opposed to facing justice for their illegal activities. Personally I hope the Navy follows the advice of the court:
Instead of shuffling Crawford off to retirement, however, Sheldon urged Chief of Naval Operations Adm. John Richardson to place him on “legal hold and institute proceedings against him" because justice “demands those responsible be held accountable and in this case it is Vice Adm. Crawford who should be punished.”
