He's absolutely correct. Most folks today look to social media to get their "news" so if you can influence the "news" you have influence over millions of minds without leaving the comforts of home. Make jokes all you want, but I will admit that Trump is one of the masters of social media. He can/does influence people with 280 characters or less. That's better than most countries leaders when they actually speak to their public for two hours. If only there was a way to get Change of Command ceremonies (especially flag level) to where the whole thing is done in 280 characters or less (not talking about the troops in formation either), or get Brigade on up CoC's to where the whole ceremony is under 30, the world would be a much better place.

SSG Warren Swan
SPC David S. - Don't make sense. Imagine a GO not being able to reminisce over his entire Division of his "Glory Day's" when he was one of them. Back when he thought it was equally as stupid and knew a shot of Ol No7 would've made it so much better.

Great thinking just not sure if it would fall under the DoD domain. I'm thinking State Dept via the Office of the Coordinator for Cyber Issues should be part as well the Office of Cyber Security & Communications, within the United States Department of Homeland Security.
For me I'm leery on the use of non secure tech by service members as good intentions could possibly be undermined.
As well any covert use of social media by the US should handled by the appropriate agencies.
