In some ways, fraudulent charities are greater insults to the veteran and active duty community than Stolen Valor - well maybe not worse but certainly in the same ballpark. I have been stung by one of these scams. Beware! Have you been duped? Care to share your experience and maybe help your borthers and sisters avoid the traps.

Maj Robert Thornton There are also so-called "legitimate" charities that still charge fees against donated money for a service charge. I have witnessed those fees approach 90%. If I give money I want it to go to the end recipient. Maybe expenses of 5% to 10% is OK.
