Apparently these, along with electrical bikes, are a major issue in the Bay Area (SF, CA). They are being abandoned all over the place and riders are not following mandatory instructions; e.g., helmet, not riding on the sidewalk, parking in designated spaces, etc.

They are all over Atlanta as well. I wouldn't ride a bike in downtown ATL, much less one of those scooters.
