So.. about that.
Those 12 Russians that were indicted are all GRU officers. None of them will ever be tried, because Russia will never extradite them. Also, to try them would mean that the defense would get discovery, meaning that the intelligence tools used to trace their activities would be revealed, as Muller's team discovered going after the "Internet research group".
None of this is going anywhere,
Manafort is in the most trouble, exclusively because of tax filing from ten years ago and issues with communicating with former associates that were witnesses for the prosecution. He's in a mess of his own making. He might go to jail. But what he will go to jail for has nothing to do with Trump/Russia. It has something to do with Ukraine, as he was a lobbyist on their behalf. Which is, you know, a whole 'nother country than Russia... that Russia is currently at war with and detached and annexed a piece of Ukraine's sovereign territory.
