I don't understand how they didn't plan for this. You're offering people to buy a bear that normally costs a lot for as low as $1. There was really no one in that company that thought "hmm, maybe we should plan for an onslaught of people trying to get these bears super cheap."
However, people who get violent over getting a toy are ridiculous. I don't care if it is the hottest thing around. I remember all those big chaos moments and people beating down others to get the "hot toy" for Christmas in the 80s and 90s. Why? Forget that. I'll get my kid something else. It's not worth getting attacked over.

Exactly. Forget that. My parents never did that either. We got what we got. Honestly they did pretty damn good with the presents they gave us. I only wish I could find a lot of them. I know my My Little Ponies and Care Bears have to be somewhere in my dad's. I just can't find them. My Barbies - my stupid ass stepsister's kids destroyed them. I KNEW I shouldn't have left them there. I just knew those kids had no respect for other people's stuff.
I did find my Rainbow Brite - two Rainbow Brite dolls and some other old toys though.

LTC (Join to see) - I don't know if I recall hospitals doing it. I was born in 82 so I was a little kid. I know that my CPKs came with a birth certificate. I was 7 at the end of the 80s so anything dealing with hospitals I was probably oblivious too lol. I know mine came with one and we also had the one you like sewed together? The ones that had the funky looking nose.
