Any idea how long theyve been holding Maple Resolve exercises? I remember flying FB-111 missions at Cold Lake in early 80s and name Maple something sounds familiar.

John, I'm sure they've had NATO exercises going back before you were there starting off with Maple something. Any evolved from a force-on-force similar to a reforger exercise from when you we were over there. Coe lake is only about an hour away in some of those jet trainers were flying over the base when I was there I know Wainwright has an Airfield but it's suited more for small planes and helicopters. The generals flew in on King airs.

Ok thanks, sure it was whatever version of Maple FTX was running back then. We flew missions round robin from our home base in New Hampshire.

I had a Latvian Art Teacher in High School. She was a refugee post World War II and told stories about how some of the early refugee ships were torpedo'd by the Russians and sunk and on her ship they lived in terror the first few days while they had to share in submarine watch. Sad hearing her stories but she was also staunchly anti-Communist, anti-Russia.
