I don't believe there is anything "wild card" about this man. It seems to me he is calculated in his decision-making process. 30 years ago we admired a man who told it like it was. A person who stood up for what he believed in and didn't bend to the political correctness of the moment. While I may at times not agree with him, I respect the man he is. Bias media coverage has done him no favors, but all it takes is a little research to see he has always held the same core beliefs that most Americans hold. The difference is he speaks his mind despite what is considered politically correct at the moment. I don't believe the United States benefits from our relationship with NATO to the extent it should given the level of support it is given. Whatever the outcome, it will have little impact on the lives of most Americans. And if we close some bases in other countries and bring our troops home I'm not sure that's a bad outcome. America First is a simple concept and one I agree with. Let's take care of our people first and then help the rest of the world.

Thanks LTG Darryl Williams, the new Superintendent at West Point just came back from a command of NATO forces in Turkey.
