An American Century of Brutal Overseas Conquest Began at Guantánamo Bay

The Treaty of 1898 awarded Cuba, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Philippines to the US at the end of the Spanish/American War. The US, in its infinite benevolence, agreed to give Cuba to its people. little did they know or suspect, a communist dictator would eventually steal the country. The deal made to lawfully entitle the US to hold a tiny sliver of the country for its benefit, having paid dearly in blood and treasure to obtain Cuba for its people, is binding, unless both parties agree to terminate it. Unless BOTH PARTIES agree to terminate it. Hating on the United States is popular these days, yet millions of people from around the world risk life and limb each year to come here, many unlawfully.
