I really don't want to agree with Mr McDougall. There are portions of, and things happening within today's society that can't be ignored. He delves into some recent history. Things some of us experienced as it was happening. But, I'm old enough to remember where I was when both Kennedy's were assassinated. That last was just for perspective.

People who point at the other side as the problem and ignore the big picture are just engaging in mental masturbation. Remember Gabrielle Giffords? Remember Charlottesville? See, it's easy and makes us feel good.
The reality is the level of civil discourse has been decreasing all around, and yeah occasionally that's going to bubble up in violence. It doesn't help that we now have a POTUS who's encouraged it in his speeches.
