They're already looking hard.

IAF to get midair refueling tanker
Capability needed for possible strike on Iran; Boeing 707 will be converted into a midair refueling tanker.

I would think it would be hard to sell the narrative that we are just helping Israel defend itself with our enormous military aid to them while also providing them with the means for an expeditionary strike capability. But the Israel lobby seems to get whatever it wants, so I suppose I won't be surprised.

COL (Join to see) they have no "physical space" to buffer them. They have to bring the fight to those who threaten them. If they wait for the enemy to arrive, it is too late

Lt Col Charlie Brown - I agree that they have quite a security problem in that regard. Of course, in this case, we're talking about defense from nuclear weapons, and in the event of an Iranian nuclear missile attack, that buffer space wouldn't mean much anyway. In my opinion, if we really want to defend Israel from such an attack and mitigate the possibility that they'll engage in yet another pre-emptive kinetic strike, then the answer is solving our problems with this missile shield.

They can afford our new Jets or we can give them some kc-135 models that are still in good shape.

I don't think it's an issue about whether they can "afford" it. You know where that money comes from, right?

At that point, when we refuel them, we become part of the attack force. Wonder how the Muslim countries would react to that?
