Been there. Actually more humbling to me than Gettysburg. At Gettysburg soldiers knew what they were getting into, not so at Little Bighorn.

I had much of the same thoughts and feelings when I was at LBH. But I was then, and I remain, completely pro-Native American. I was much more interested in the battle from their vantage point. While standing there alone, the Washita, Sand Creek, New Ulm, the Black Hills, the Trail of Tears, Wounded Knee, and other sites of Indian massacres all came to mind. I freely admit that it was very emotional for me.

SCPO (Join to see) - I have visited most of those sites. I find Wounded Knee and Sand Creek most moving.
Add Ft Robinson, NE, the site of the killing of Crazy Horse.
