Text of President Trump's executive order on family separation

I was concerned when I learned that President Trump issued an Executive Order on family separation. I feared that, like President Obama, he might wield his pen like a kingly scepter, but he didn't. There certainly were many encouraging him to do just that. Senator Schumer, the Minority Leader in the US Senate, ranted on TV while waving his own pen demanding that President Trump do just that. The various reports/interpretations by "journalists" led me to believe that President Trump succumbed to that temptation. However, I was greatly relieved when I found the text of the executive order and read it myself. You should, too. It's only one page and can be read in a few minutes. After few more minutes reflection, you will see that President Trump specifically calls on federal agencies to enforce the law and to keep alien families together as long as possible. However, there is a consent order from a federal court, the Flores case, that precludes the federal authorities from leaving children in custody. President Trump in this order directs the Justice Department to revisit that case and negotiate with the federal judge to see if that time can be extended. In any case, the EO specifically mentions, correctly mentions that it is the responsibility of Congress to legislate new laws to preclude the types of situations we've seen give rise to all the confusion now raging across the nation. Personally, I think this EO is brilliant, lawful, and just. But that's just my opinion. Please read the text of the EO for yourself and make up your own mind.
