Should have selected a submarine sailor, we love everyone. Well almost everyone. I can assure that this type character didn’t get the attitude all of a sudden.

Yes, interesting to note assignments,
Most have had senior staff assignments. I was a technical type and other than a couple instructor shore duties. I made myself a target since I was trained on maintenance and operation of every piece of equipment in the radio room. Not to mention, I have always been a bit outspoken, one of my reviews called it candid.

MCPO Roger Collins One can be candid and tactful at the same time. Now being candid and disrespectful all depends on the tone and infliction of the voice, and who the voice is directed at. I’ve seen Sergeats Majors shit down by subordinates by being candid and tactful at the same time. Good ones won’t argue with sound logic. Then there are the others...... back to the MCPON wasn’t the one shown had a problem with constantly being on tv? Tons of commercials awhile back? If that’s him, I never heard a bad work on him past the commercials.

SGT (Join to see) - Name plates are not mandatory, nor are they standard issue in the Navy. Name plates are made by individual commands to issue to those assigned, but not all commands do. Because it's the MCPON speaking, this is probably a mix of various Sailors from different commands.

SCPO (Join to see) - interesting, I wasn’t aware of that, thank you. Can individual commands issue nameplates as they see fit? Last name only, first and last name, rank and last name, etc? Or if they decide to issue name plates, they at least have to issue them uniformly?
The MCPON appears to have a flag engraved into his, but other sailors in the photo appear to have different or no engravings at all.

Additionally, all humor aside, the Navy has had an awful streak of some pretty intense scandals and incidents over the past few years. From a Naval senior NCO perspective, in your opinion, are these all just randomly occurring events, by chance occurring in the same time frame, or is this latest issue with the MCPON an indication that the Navy is experiencing a serious crisis of leadership at just about every level?

Thanks for your time, I appreciate it.

SGT (Join to see) - Commands can pretty much do as they want in regards to name tags. Usually the command crest on the right with whatever info they want on the left. The MCPON has the CNO's flag on his name tag.

In regards to your second question, IMO there are some deep issues popping up stemming from decisions made back at the turn of the century designed to cut costs.
