"Tithe" means a tenth which is why it's a tenth portion of your earnings... If it's anything outside of your tithe then it's an offering which is for everything else that supports the church or somebody specific that the church is trying to help or support (missionaries, scholarships, etc). Normally If you give to the church and you don't delegate it as your tithe then it is an offering.
