Will never happen. And if it does, it will be from the heavily armed Conservative Right Wing American militias that would lead any form of armed revolt against the federal government. Our Constitution is strong enough to avoid a military or political coup by elites from either side in government.

If the military did not go along with the traitor president who did not accept a loss there would be no civil war, after the new president was sworn in the Secret Service would remove that loser from the white-house in cuffs if necessary. We are a nation of laws regardless of the pretensions of some of out leaders in history.

Ignoring an impeachment and conviction would have the same result.

A few cultist might try to murder people but local police forces could handle them , what they could not , and since it would be an armed insurrection, the military lawfully could finish it. But those flakes are not as numerous as people would like you to believe.

The president has no legal power at all when his term expires and neither he or congress have any authority to extend that term. He can not issue a order to the White House janitor much less anyone else.

You try to pull a Reichstag fire here any you will simply be laughed at or jailed. The Republic is stronger that any set of punks

I didn't read the article - but the title makes me think of Handmaid's Tale. That was essentially a second civil war where an extremist Christian group takes over the government, suspends the Constitution and then institutes their view of the Bible. I didn't read the book but I recall in the show the group apparently stages terror attacks that aren't tied to them and that's how they take over to "restore order." Also apparently STDs and pollution have dropped birth rates as well.

Someday the US as we know it will cease to exist. Empires can't run forever...something like "Gilead" could happen or another civil war perhaps - not in the near future but circumstances change. I'm hoping to never see if this happens though...
