I wonder if we will see all the animosity toward Trump for this as we did for Obama.

It depends on what happens to him if he stays in prison or if he goes back to the battlefield for if it was a good call or not.

Ahmed al Darbi is a convicted terrorist and former high ranking al Qaeda official. He was sentenced to 13 years for his crimes (not including time served). He will serve out the remainder of his sentence in Saudi Arabia. He will be eligible for release in 2027. Darbi was cleared for release prior to Trump taking office. He closed the department responsible for detainee release and instead tasked Gen. Mattis with reviewing and then recommending future releases. Also in the news yesterday was the report from Mattis to the President on how best to determine qualifications for future detainees at Gitmo, which is open for business with a big fat "WELCOME" sign on it.
