Iran will do nothing. They are not capable of force projection on any appreciable scale. Russia will continue to prop up Assad and spew their Soviet era propaganda that no one with any intelligence actually believes.

On some level I have to wonder if the entire incident was not schemed up by the Russians to keep us engaged in Syria which drains our national resources and degrades our military readiness.

Sigh...I knew it'd eventually get to that point, it was only a matter of time, I'd expected, you know? I wish it'd just stop, it's gone on for decades now, one would have expected those doing it would just get bored with it after all that time, quite honestly....

The support Russia is showing basically shows that International Law also means nothing to them either. Chemical weapons are never ok and support for anyone that uses them by Russia says a lot about their leadership, they'l do what ever they think they can get away with. Russia maybe should use some caution themselves on what they give these people, they already proved they can't be trusted and what makes them think they won't bite the hand that feeds them ?

SMSgt,
Excellent points.
I suspect, there is something at stake here. For both sides. I wish I knew what it was SMSgt.
