The Connection Between Retiring Early and Living Longer

My wife refers to Social Security as retirement and she drew it as soon as she could - age 62 CW5 Jack Cardwell and yet she still works part time.
I was terminated in June 2013 when the Affordable Care Act was implemented - I was 55. I was VA disabled and had a marginal level of income. Whenever I asked God about going back to work HE told me bill still and wait on HIM.
I retired from the Army in October 2016 and am planning on drawing social security at age 70. Social Security income is taxable if you have enough other income - not much actually.
Once my current mission is finished I hope to be able to work again probably in volunteer work.

Looking to hang them up Sep 2021. Will be just shy of 38 years. If I finish acsc sooner...well it could be sooner.

A most serious fact mentioned in the article at the end was that many many people do not have the money to retire on in the first place. People have to keep working jobs with no benefits, spending all they make to get by from paycheck to paycheck.
