We did not learn in Vietnam and despite all of the good things we did in Iraq and Afghanistan, we have relived history. Can't win hearts and minds of those that are not like you, with money, or with a conflicting message.

Lam Son 719, Feb-Mar ‘71. What a fiasco. The “numbers” have changed over the years, but my memory says we received some 200+ rounds of enemy artillery and 155mm rockets per day. We lost around 200 helicopters, and over 600 damaged. We went through 3 GP Mediums due to shrapnel, The ammo dump blew up the night we finished building our bunker, and some 2500 known anti-aircraft positions in about a 25x10 mile box. I still have some early Aviation Digest articles somewhere in storage. I was quite the “short-timer coward” back then because my DEROS was May 10, and I sort of wanted to be able to get to my next assignment, which was Ft Carson, CO.

Our company headquarters was in Dong Ha during Lam Son 719. We patrolled Route QL-9 from Dong Ha through FSB Vandegrift to Khe Sanh, providing convoy security. This pic was from Vandegrift area.

As a civilian, RP intrigues me, I learn things of value, and I remain thirsty for more - Curiuous if it’s exceptable to post a recommendation for a documentary I’m held captive by *JFK to 911 Everything is a Rich Man’s Trick* by Francis Richard Conolly As a life long conservative, Woodstock generation granny, I contemplate the lives lost and the lies told responsible for those grave stones. Thank you respectfully
