Yep they are and looking to run for office and get back in power again. I have served under some toxic GO's and they should not open their mouths after the damage they did in uniform.

Yes. The higher up the chain and the closer you get to the Pentagon, the uniform does become a suit for military leaders that minor in Political Science.

We may be divided on guns because that is the narrative. The 2nd Amendment is not about hunting. It is about the People's Right to change our government once it has turned to tyranny. I do remember repeating an oath on numerous occasions that I had sworn to defend the Constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic... we have always been one generation away from loosing our Freedoms. It appears this General has forgotten the purpose of the second Right the Founding Fathers created.

SGT (Join to see) - We should work on protecting schools first, demanding better performance from law enforcement second, and addressing mental illness more directly to ensure those folks do not get a weapon.

If you are willing to take some 2nd amendment restriction from government beuracrats, how about some 1st amendment restrictions or 4th amendment restrictions? No thanks. Once you start forfeiting rights it gets easier for them to take more of them away.

Instead of properly punishing criminals the action is to go after law abiding citizens. I've owned weapons most of my life and have never broken a law. Why would I ever agree to the government taking away rights my ancestors fought, bled and died for over our history? Those that would give up liberty for security deserve neither.

Cpl Jeff N. - We already have limits on those amendments. You can't yell fire in a crowded theater or liable or defame, and police can enter without a warrant if there is reasonable expectation that a life is endangered. As for bureaucrats, we have to remember we live in a republic and our representatives are elected to make laws. We need to get rid of the bureaucrats and elect honest, thoughtful representatives.

SGT (Join to see) - You also cannot threaten to murder people. The sorts of things you listed are against the law due to public safety reasons or are criminal by nature. They are not restriction on free speech. A cop can enter if a life is believe to be at risk but he cannot then decide to search for things unrelated to his urgent entry.

Our representatives take an oath much like we did. The ought to remember that oath. People are flawed and prone to do the wrong thing. Giving any people an ounce more authority that is absolutely necessary is a mistake. That is how we got here. The government is too large, has too much power, is laced with corruption and incompetence.

Cpl Jeff N. - Agreed! We have too many professional politicians. I vote my conscience and not parties. I believe in the Second Amendment, but even in old Tombstone and Dodge City, they had some public safety laws that restricted firearms.

That is very true. We who wear the uniform and took an oath to protect and defend are at least somewhat informed about violence and what accompanies it. Civilians, not so.
