I agree there are lots of problems with VA healthcare like me having to wait till in 50 to get a knee replacement but there has been a lot of positive changes specially with the VA claims they have sped up the process and appointments just a few things I've noticed

Took nearly 10 years to have an eye injury recognized. What also hurts is that FEMALE veterans are being virtually ignored for health issues such as Breast Cancer, Female Health Issues, have to see doctors that do NOT understand or seem to care at all about anything but PAYCHECK DAY. My fight IS NOT OVER yet, cause I just got my Service Dog and they are saying that 5/200 vision does NOT warrant any further assistance to help me learn to adapt so I am having to learn on my own and TEACH myself HOW to navigate virtually ONE EYED. Feel alone again? YES I DO.

PFC Pamala (Hall) Foster - I am sorry to read of your troubles. My wife, also a Vet, has had pretty good luck dealing with the VAMC here.
Hope you get through this.

MSG Stan Hutchison - At first I wasn't feeling this way and now-WOW, it hit. My Prism lenses are NOT working at all and no one at the VA Ophthalmology seems to mention anything about Low Vision Clinic (found out Via DAV and American Legion). They say I can drive-State Police DISAGREE so I am listening to POLICE! Driving and seeing double is DANGEROUS. I walk normal at times, but I have TAUGHT MYSELF how. Only VA that seems to give a darn was Seattle. Advocates here in Ann Arbor are great to me, it's just getting on the same page that is slow.
