California school science project that connected race and IQ is pulled after complaints

Programs inclusion or exclusion on race need to be curtailed as the earlier age levels of school children. Proper education and opportunity at lower grade levels tend to prepare people for more advanced studies as they get older. Intelligence of course some have and some never will but often many things can be offset with proper opportunity at an earlier point in life where study habits are being formed. IQ scores may well measure ones ability to succeed but race isn't the factor any more than it is on determining who isn't all that smart. It seems looking at the whole individual and providing opportunity to prepare for higher level education is key to who will and who will not succeed. I did attend a private Military Academy where the minimum IQ for admission was 120. The feeling was if You had the basic intelligence in the first place but poor study habits, those could be corrected and a few individuals proved that to be correct. Race and national origin also had nothing to do with that, a good educational setting did and the success rate was excellent. The Corp of Cadets represented people from many different nations and racial backgrounds but all did meet certain qualifications based on their own abilities based mostly on intelligence as a main criteria.

I concur with your assessment SSG(P) (Join to see). Since this was a science fair project at a California high school at not an official school curriculum it is sad that the students ingenuity was trampled on by the school system.
So much for freedom of exploration in science in California.
It is ironic that social Darwinism seems to be frowned on while Darwin is lauded in much of California school curriculum.
