Trump’s ‘marching orders’ to the Pentagon: Plan a grand military parade | RallyPoint
I do hope this is "fake news." IMV, it would be a tremendous waste of time, money, and other resources ... and would accomplish absolutely ... nothing. Military strength is one of those things that, if you've got it, you don't flaunt it. Leave the flash and dash parades to Kim Jung Un.

LTC Tom Jones - Not a problem. This site makes it particularly difficult to avoid multiple postings of the same topic. Think there were five or six on this one. I didn't want to retype my comment that many times ... easier just to link to it.

SFC Joseph Weber - I'd say he pretty well nailed it. I can't begin to imagine the headaches that putting on such an [unnecessary] parade would entail. It was bad enough when presidents visited military bases. Ford visited Cp Casey in Korea in, IIRC, 1974. The logistics guys came up with enough paint to paint the buildings on Cp Casey along the route of march from the main gate to the 2ID HQ ... but only enough to paint the side of the buildings facing the road. Dumber than dirt. If this parade thing comes to fruition, I can imagine a lot of robbing Peter to pay Paul. I'm a conservative and support Trump on most policy issues ... but I sure hope this not-so-bright idea falls by the wayside.
