As I'd said, one of the others on here found am Article about the research, I was just able to find the paper, however, !such appreciated, of course...as for the volcanic theory, as you say, perhaps, however, while I've read a good deal of geology, I'm by Mom!eams a geologist, though I obviously understand your point of course.

Capt Daniel Goodman - I may have reached with my thought, but if volcanic action attributed for the deposits in Chile (like the Yellowstone caldera. Again, my assumption.) then it may be the same on the Red Planet. Way out of my area of expertise! Still a great post.

Not necessarily, that paper deals with geologic commonality, the principle of sulfur based bacteria from ocean thermal vents, or cyanobacteria, is quite well established, one would certainly think that such geological basis for bio evolution might certainly have existed on Mars, it's Norman unreasonable supposition, one would think....
